UMBI (COMB) Faculty Member to Receive Regents' Award

BALTIMORE, MD – Dr. Rosemary Jagus, an Associate Professor at UMBI’s Center of Marine Biotechnology, has been selected as a recipient of a 2005 University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents’ Faculty Award for Collaboration in Teaching. The Award recognizes Dr. Jagus and her collaborator, Dr. Eric May of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, for their efforts in establishing and nurturing the Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center (LMRCSC) to promote and enhance opportunities for education, research and advancement of under-represented minorities pursuing careers in the marine sciences. The LMRCSC, supported by funds form the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, has served both undergraduate and graduate students via distance learning courses and research experiences.
